Chapter 1
A Safe Trip From Home

I can’t remember a day without looking up to see the stars. They’re always with me where ever I go. I haven't really traveled far though, at least not with my own two feet. I currently reside on Satellite 2901 or as we like to call it Project Orion. We are a small group who departed from Earth and into orbit on 12-23-09 to explore affects of life in space. Originally we were to return a few weeks after out arrival as the living specimens were vegetables, not us. Things went on as normals but then I showed up. During the departure I was only a few months old, sneaking on the craft in my mother’s travel bag, that's the story I’ve been told. She was the lead scientist on this project and she taught me almost everything I know. I was raised here, I inadvertently became the experiment. I was taught about space and the placement stars, I read every book that gave me glimpse into the history of the planet I was born on, I even taught myself to read an write using said books. Just reminiscing brings a tear to my eyes. In just a few hours the crew leaving this station and I thought I’d write one final log before I leave. I want to remember this moment when I get to Earth, when I go home. Wonder what it’d be like, mom told me that star actually disaster for some time and that the floor isn't hard and metal. I’m not sure if I’m ready for this but I don't think change is going to wait for me to grow up, change will push me to.
                                                                                                            -  Elara Cosmos
                                                                                                5-11-24

I powered down laptop and looked out my window. There it was, Earth. It seemed closer and closer which each glance at it. I tried to look away but the glow of the geosphere was too alluring. It was song just calling to me, asking me to come and harmonize with it. It looked so lively, so vibrant. I’ve always seen white from the metal that protects me, and silver from the tech that connects me and the stars that surround me, and the darkness of the infinite beyond but in the fifteen years I’ve been living on this station the vision of Earth always seemed to stand out as a beautifully cut gem. It seems so easy to go to earth, return “home”. But despite being alone up here I know i’m going to miss this, I know that as soon as we depart I will force the biggest smile but my heart will shatter. Then an alarm pierced the stone cold silence. It was time. My suspicions were confirmed when a voice cam up on the intercom:
“Attention all crew members, we are a approximately one hour away from our departure. Please place your belongs in the storage unit for the trip to orbit. We will meet in the main quarters fifteen minutes before hand to prepare. “
I let out a sigh and placed my laptop in my bag and with that my room was entirely barren (Aside from the chair I was currently sitting on), just an empty space unlike outside. Outside there are stars, and moons, and plants and galaxies and this room was just there to take up space. I jumped out of my chair ready to float to the storage unit, only to fall flat on my face. I completely forgot that the station had an artificial gravity setting. They must have turned it on to get us used to the gravity on Earth. I got up and flailed my arms back and fourth until I regained my balance.
“One step at a time.” I told myself.
I grabbed my bag and carefully walked to the door. I don't really walk much and I just dreaded the taught of falling on my face again. Did this happen very often on Earth or was it just me? Before I left I looked out my window one last time.
I looked at the sparkling blue gem and then at my hallowed out room, “Time to go home.”
Thousands of years in the future a girl who has been living among the stars final returns home to Earth and to her srprise Earth is much different than the history books told her it was like. She soon finds herself joining up with three other girl as she learns to Earth's culture, and technological advantages.

I think this is a really interesting concept and a good start to your story.
Besides, some grammatical/punctuation error, everything seems A-Okay!
